To celebrate the launch of The Impact Stage at SXSW Sydney, we’re inviting you to our inaugural launch party.

The Impact Stage Launch Party will bring together the brightest minds and boldest organisations from across the not-for-profit, social enterprise, and corporate worlds. With Sydney’s skyline as our backdrop, this rooftop gathering marks the beginning of what will become the must-attend annual celebration of generosity and social innovation during SXSW Sydney.

  • A social enterprise is a business that puts people and planet first.

    While social enterprises have different legal structures, business models and operating contexts, they have one thing in common: they work in a way that is consistent with the global standards. 

    Social Enterprise Australia is the national peak body for social enterprise. We advocate for and connect the sector to unlock the impact of social enterprise.

    We work with the sector to lead its national strategy. The strategy is challenge-led, focusing on priorities where social enterprise can help most. This includes environmental care, people-centred services, access to decent work, and community-led innovation.

    We work with state and territory peak bodies. They advocate for and connect the sector in their areas.

  • Microsoft Elevate is Microsoft’s next-generation social impact initiative, combining their tech resources, philanthropic programs, and nonprofit support into a unified platform designed for the AI era. Launched globally in 2025, it replaces and expands upon Microsoft’s Tech for Social Impact program. 

    At its core, Elevate is about putting people first. It commits more than US$4 billion over five years in cash, AI, and cloud technology to nonprofits, K–12 schools, and community organizations.  The goal includes scaling access to AI education tools, upskilling millions with in-demand credentials, and providing technology solutions that help organizations accelerate their missions.
